Indicative international market reference prices

How to read these figures

What moves the price a buyer actually pays

A market reference is the starting point of a negotiation, not the landed cost of a consignment.

Specification and assay

Purity, fineness and impurity profile established by independent laboratory assay determine the discount or premium applied to the international reference.

Quantity and consistency

Trial tonnages and one-off parcels price differently from contracted, repeatable volumes with agreed delivery schedules.

Origin and documentation

Export permits, chain-of-custody records and responsible sourcing documentation affect acceptability at the destination refinery or smelter.

Logistics and Incoterms

FOB, CIF or DDP terms, insurance, security and freight routing to the destination port change the delivered figure materially.

Payment and contract terms

Payment instrument, inspection point, tolerance clauses and settlement timing are all priced into the final commercial terms.

Market timing

Spot and exchange references move continuously; pricing formulas in contracts typically fix against an agreed reference on an agreed date.

Questions

Gold, silver, copper, cobalt and lithium pricing FAQs

What is the gold price per kg in USD today?

The gold price per kilogram shown on this page is calculated automatically from the international spot price per troy ounce (1 kilogram = 32.1507 troy ounces). It updates whenever the underlying spot feed updates and is an indicative market reference, not an Afrimet Global Resources offer.

Is there a separate African gold price?

No. Gold is priced against the international spot market in USD. What differs in African gold trade is the discount or premium applied to spot, which reflects assay purity, refining requirements, quantity, origin documentation, insurance and freight to the destination refinery. Those terms are set in a written quotation.

What is the silver price today?

The silver figure on this page is the international spot price for XAG/USD in US dollars per troy ounce, with per gram and per kilogram values calculated automatically. Like gold, it is an indicative third-party market reference and not an Afrimet Global Resources quotation.

Why is the copper price shown per metric tonne?

International copper contracts are commonly negotiated in USD per metric tonne. The figure here is derived from the front-month COMEX copper futures price in USD per pound, converted at 2,204.62 pounds per metric tonne, and is exchange data on a delayed basis.

Why are cobalt and lithium prices not displayed?

Cobalt and lithium are assessed by subscription price reporting agencies and exchange contracts without a reliable openly published real-time feed. Rather than publish an invented or stale number, we show no figure and confirm the applicable benchmark in writing during quotation.

Are these prices what Afrimet Global Resources charges?

No. They are third-party international market reference prices. Transaction pricing depends on specification, assay, purity, quantity, origin, documentation, logistics and contract terms, and is issued only in a written quotation after buyer verification.
