Copper — Cathodes, Concentrates and Buyer Requirements
Copper is the centre of the Democratic Republic of Congo's industrial mineral economy, and the commodity where Afrimet Global Resources concentrates most of its commercial and partnership activity.
Overview
Copper at a glance
Copper enquiries divide quickly into two very different conversations. Cathode buyers want grade, brand acceptability, weighing point and delivery terms. Concentrate buyers want assay, moisture, penalty elements and treatment and refining charges.
Afrimet Global Resources structures both around written specification and independent verification, with all commercial terms established in contract rather than in correspondence.
Bulk cathode enquiries and offtake proposals are handled through a dedicated commercial process — see the Copper Cathodes page for the buyer and offtake route.

In practice
How copper material is handled
Material is described against a written specification, sampled and assayed by an independent party, and weighed at the point named in the contract. Origin, export and inspection documentation is prepared to the requirements of the country of export.
Nothing on this page represents available stock, guaranteed quantity or a firm offer. Availability, grade and commercial terms are confirmed per transaction and remain subject to verification, documentation, contract and applicable law.

How are penalty elements handled?
Penalty elements, moisture deductions and treatment or refining charges are agreed in writing before contract and applied against the independent assay.
