Why mineral enquiries are declined before commercial discussion

The documentation, counterparty and transaction-structure issues that can prevent an enquiry from progressing.

Clarity is a commercial requirement

A credible enquiry identifies the buyer, purchasing entity, beneficial ownership, required mineral and specification, intended quantity, destination and proposed transaction structure. Missing information does not automatically indicate a problem, but it does prevent meaningful review.

Enquiries may be paused or declined when identity cannot be verified, authority is unclear, origin evidence is unavailable, a sanctioned party or route is involved, or payment is proposed through an unrelated third party without a documented reason.

Requests to bypass controls

Pressure to skip inspection, accelerate documents without review, substitute parties after screening or treat a draft offer as binding undermines the controls that protect both sides. A professional process makes approval points visible and records who is authorised to make each decision.

Early screening saves time

Resolving compliance questions before pricing, logistics or document preparation reduces wasted work. It also allows a buyer to understand which evidence will be required before they commit internal resources to a proposed transaction.
